Charles Junior Jarrett, 86, of Greenfield, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. He was born Feb. 6, 1927, in West Virginia as the son of Jacob S. and Cloie (Martin) Jarrett.

He served in the Army during World War II. He married Lois Jean (Hufford) Jarrett on Aug. 23, 1945, in New Castle, Ind. They were happily married for 68 years.

Surviving him are his loving wife, Lois; sons, Steve (Teresa) Jarrett of Greenfield, Mark (Sonni) Jarrett of Springs Valley, Ind.; daughter, Marla (Kevin) Richards of Greenwood; brothers, Alvin, Dan, Roger, Rollin; sisters, Juanita, Melba, Doris, Ellen, Lois; several nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Stacey Snyder; grandson, Greg Jarrett; sisters, Fern and Geneva; and daughter, Dee.

Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. also at the Mortuary. Reverend Roger Jarrett will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
