Marilyn J. (Houston) Hale

Marilyn J. (Houston) Hale, 77, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at home. She was born on April 20, 1936, in Sullivan, Ind., the daughter of John and Stella (Butler) Houston.

She graduated from Dugger High School. Marilyn married Jerry K. Hale on Dec. 26, 1954, in Dugger, Ind.

She was a wonderful homemaker her entire life. She was the best Mom and Grandma in the world. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Hershey.

Surviving her are her son, Khris J. (Kristi) of Carmel; daughter, Kim (James) Foreman of Greenfield; sisters, Loretta Haffley of Indianapolis and Imogene Miller of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Cherish, Amber, Haley, Joel, Joseph, Gabrielle, Gavin and Caroline; and three great-grandchildren, Rain, Sky and Violet.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; parents; sisters, Mary Krug and Ruby Edds; and brothers, Bob Houston and Billy Houston.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2013, with a funeral service immediately following at 2 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. Pastor Mike Mercer will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East in Indianapolis.
