Lawrence “Larry” “Smitty” Smith
Lawrence “Larry” “Smitty” Smith, 70, New Palestine, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013. Born April 4, 1943, in Canton, Ill. to the late Earl and Vera (Breckenridge) Smith.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Linda; children, Lonnie (Kathy) Smith and Lana (Travis) Koontz; three grandchildren; siblings, Ed (Carol) Smith and David (Dorothy) Smith; sisters-in-law, Mary Sue (Allan) Woodruff and Kathy (Lyndel) Schnarr; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Visitation is from 5 – 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Southport United Methodist Church, 1947 E. Southport Rd, Indpls, 46227 with the Celebration of Life service immediately following at 6:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of his three beloved grandchildren’s college education fund; First United Methodist Church in Lewistown, IL or consider organ donation in honor of Lonnie, a 9 year transplant survivor.
