Marlin L. Sandefur

Marlin L. Sandefur, 81, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Hancock Regional Hospice. He was born March 12, 1932, in Carthage, to the late Elmer and Laura (Maple) Sandefur.

Marlin was a graduate of Carthage High School and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He married Beatrice (Jones) Sandefur on August 19, 1960. Marlin worked several years as a lead person for RCA and retired in 1989 as an inspector for Naval Avionics. He was also a lifelong member of the N.R.A.

Marlin is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beatrice Sandefur; son, Patrick  (Ann) Sandefur of Lake Jackson, Texas; daughters, Jane Moody of Lake Jackson, Texas, Terry (Ty) Sandefur-Hite of Greenfield, and Robin Potter of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Kevin and Scott Werling, Tony and Aaron Potter, Noah and Jonah Hite and Jenna and Jase Sandefur; great-grandchildren, Corbin, Kalan, Odie, Ryn and Lincoln Werling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Virginia Lewman.

The Sandefur family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, with the services immediately following at 1 p.m., at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery, Morristown.
