Mary C. Mitchell, 88, of Greenfield, formerly of the Burlington area, Ind., passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at 7:58 a.m., at Springhurst Health Campus. She was born on Oct. 31, 1924 in Peru, Ind., to Lewis and Florence (Williams) Marburger. She married Alvin Max Mitchell on August 28, 1949, and he passed away on July 2, 2009.
Mary was a member of the Burlington First Brethren Church, member of the Lifetime Telephone Pioneers, member of C.W.A., Nidde Shrine Guild, and order of Eastern Star in Russiaville #130. Mary worked for Indiana Bell in Kokomo as an operator and retired in 1978 after 25 years of service.
Survivors include daughter, Patty (Steve) Wilkinson of Greenfield; son, Phil (Jackie) Mitchell of Logansport, Ind.; four grandchildren, Mark C. (Rayme) Mitchell, Krysti (Paul) Scislowski, Emily (Jason) House, Brett (fiancé Alison Lee) Wilkinson; seven great- grandchildren.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Church. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday June 8, 2013, at the Burlington First Brethren Church at 205 W. 8th Street, Burlington, Ind. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Herat Association.
