Robert L. Durham, 71, passed away June 2, 2013, in Greenfield. He was born on July 31, 1941, to Belvin and Vera (Ward) Durham in New Castle.
A graduate of Knightstown High School and Purdue University, Bob worked as a Structural Engineer for over twenty years and helped design numerous commercial venues in downtown Indianapolis as well as many residential homes in Greenfield and surrounding areas.
Though he was a classic car enthusiast, a fan of the Colts and Pacers, and a talented woodworker and furniture builder, he had no greater joy than being a husband and a father. He proudly coached both of his sons’ baseball teams for 11 years and served as a volunteer for the Boys’ and Girls’ Club of Hancock County, and as a Board Member and Equipment Manager for the Greenfield Youth Baseball Association.
He will be deeply missed by his proud family, wife, Jill (Watts) Durham; sons, Andrew and Aaron Durham of Indianapolis; and brother, James (Elizabeth) Durham of Knightstown.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Belvin and Vera Durham of Knightstown.
There will be a private graveside service on Friday, June 7, 2013, at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
