Kenton L. Dismore, 88, of Greenfield, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville, Ind. Born on May 10, 1925, in Hancock County, he was the son of Clarence A. and Edith D. (McCormick) Dismore.

He graduated from Westland High School in 1943. He served in the Navy during World War II for two years. He married Ellen E. Goodwin on August 21, 1943.

He worked for Allisons, of Indianapolis, as an Inspector for thirty years before retiring in 1981. He was also a lifetime farmer in Hancock County. Mr. Dismore was a member of the Moose Lodge in Greenfield, American Legion Post #70, VFW Post #2999, and also a member of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling, going on antique car tours, and dancing.

Surviving him are his sons, Keith Dismore of Greenfield, David Dismore of Fountaintown, Steve (Sharon) Dismore of Greenfield; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Ellen Dismore; son, Gary L. Dismore; granddaughter, Pamela Dismore; sister, Julian Nicholson; and brothers, Austin and Emerson Dismore.

Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield with the funeral service immediately following visitation, beginning at 7 p.m. Chuck Wanner and Hugh Severance will be officiating.
