E. Geraldine “Jerry” (Wright) Alford, 91, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, at Golden Living Facility in Greenfield. Born on June 24, 1921, in Columbus, Ind., and she was the daughter of Harris E. and Ella Purtlebaugh-Stuckey.
She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1939. Jerry retired from MacAllister Machinery Company in Indianapolis after 26 years. She also worked as a genealogist for Ye Old Genealogy Shoppe in Wanamaker. She was a lifetime member of Centenary Christian Church in Indianapolis.
Surviving her are her son, Donald W. Grebe of Greenfield; daughter, Jane D. (Robert) Wakeland of Greenfield; brother, William A. Wright of Matton, IL; six grandchildren, Jeralynn, Angelynn, Brent, Laura, Shawn and Stephen; and five great-grandchildren, Daisy, Declan, Austin, Abbey, and Anthony.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and daughter, Ann Shepherd.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m., on Monday, May 20, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, also at the mortuary. Pastor Troy Doubman will be officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Park East in Indianapolis.
