Rosemary B. Jennings

Rosemary B. Jennings, our beloved mother, 88, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, entered eternal life on the morning of May 8, 2013. She was born March 5, 1925, to James Levi Bowlen and Magdalena (Seifert) Bowlen.

Rosemary graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Indianapolis. She married F. Robert Jennings, founder of Service Engineering, Inc., on March 6, 1942. She was a devout charter member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where she was an active volunteer. Rosemary also volunteered at Community Hospital East and the Little Sisters of the Poor. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family at her lake house. Holidays were special for large family gatherings. During her life, Rosemary enjoyed bowling, dancing, traveling, movies, reading, singing, and spending time with babies. Rosemary was a loving and devoted mother to her eight children.

Rosemary is survived by her children, Barbara Cripe, Bob (Gerry) Jennings,  Bev (Randy) Davis, Brian Jennings, Betty (Bruce) Snodgrass, Rosemarie Jennings, Bruce (Vette) Jennings, Rebecca Jennings, and Brenda (Lee) Hopkins. She was also a loving grandmother to James (Hallie), David and Kristen Cripe, Jennifer (Dan) Klase, Adrienne (Scott) Gale, Ryan (Michelle) Jennings, Kristine (James) Skaarsgard, Jason (Emily) Davis, Meredith (Barrett) Esarey, Taylor (Jena) Jennings, Erin (Thomas) Randall, Jonathan (fiancée, Sara) Akles, Brian, Robby (fiancée, Caitlin), Jake (fiancée, Nikki), Josh Jennings, Alena (Brad) Blevens, Michael (fiancée, Brynne), Cory, and Rachel Snyder, Arian, Oliver, and Sophia Hopkins; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, F. Robert Jennings; son-in-law, Bob Cripe; sisters, Hazel Mueller, Marie Smith, Elizabeth Reilly and Joan Humbles; and brother, James Bowlen.

Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, with a Rosary Service at 8 p.m. Visitation available at 10 a.m., with the Funeral Mass immediately following at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2013, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E. 10th Street, Indianapolis. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
