Orris Ross Potts, 83, of Greenfield, passed away May 7, 2013, at his residence. Born on April 20, 1930, in Montgomery, Ind., he was the son of Ross W. and Mary E. (Hayden) Potts.

He graduated from Montgomery High School in 1948. He served in the Navy during the Korean War from 1951-1954. Orris worked for Ford in Indianapolis for many years. He was a member of VFW Post #3321, in Washington, Ind., and UAW.

Surviving him are his daughter, Phyllis Smith of Greenfield; brothers, Curtis L. (Lavone) Potts of Washington, Ind., Robert F. (Donna) Potts of Princeton, Ind., Leslie H. (Millie) Potts of Washington, Ind.; sisters, Annette Bryan of Washington, Ind., Linda L. (George) Schifano of Newburg, Ind., Carol K. Ragsdale of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Ryan P. Smith, Charles E. Potts, Daniel J. Smith, and Keith M. Potts.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Ross W. Potts; brothers, Herbert W. Potts and Lowell Potts; and sister, Margaret Beadles.

A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m, on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Reeve Township of Davis County, Ind.  Reverend Philip Richardson will be officiating.
