Karl W. Forrest, 72, of  Greenfield, passed away at 04:30 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2013, while in the company of family members, at  his residence. Karl was born in Columbus, Ohio, on July 28, 1940, a son of the late Laverna (Calhoun) and Gilbert W. Forrest.

He served in the U.S. Army during the  Korean War. He was formerly employed as a bolt maker at Ford Motor Company for over  32 1/2 years. Karl was a member of  Knightstown American Legion Post , UAW local 1111 , an avid flea marketer and antique buyer, loved NASCAR and was a huge gun enthusiast being a member of The NRA. He was a graduate of Redkey High School class of 1958.

Karl was the husband, of Marjorie Elaine (Johnson) Forrest, who survives also surviving are  two daughters, Melanie E. Jenkins, of Greenfield and Kimberly K. Forrest of Greenfield; three grandchildren, Kevin Danford, Julayne R. Jenkins, and Kaitlin Baker all of Greenfield; and one great-grandchild, Micheal W.W. Thomas also of Greenfield; two sisters, Phyllis, (Russell) Curme of Redkey, Ind. and Nancy (Arthur) Ford of Geneva, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Karl was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Forrest .

Friends are invited to call from 6- 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at M J S Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel Friends are also invited to call one hour prior to services Thursday, May 9, 2013, at M J S Mortuaries Redkey Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013, at M J S Mortuaries Redkey Chapel, Redkey, Ind, with Pastor Randy Smith officiating. Burial  will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery Redkey, Ind.

Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Post 227 Dunkirk.
