David Lee Griffith, 69, of Greenwood, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, at his home. Born on May 12, 1943, in Greenfield, he was the son of Theron and Dorothy Lee Lucille (Marshall) Griffith.
He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1963. He served in the Air Force during Viet Nam. David married Linda L. (Young) Griffith on May 24, 1975. David worked for the Standard Register as a printer in Shelbyville for 19 years and at Chrysler in assembly for 14 years. He was involved in the American Legion Post #70 and Masons; he loved fishing, camping, gardening and spending time with family.
Surviving him are his wife, Linda Griffith of Greenwood; daughters, Christine Wells of Franklin and Darla (John) Mullany of Knightstown; sons, Kenny (Janie) McPherson of Shelbyville and Robert (Tammy) McPherson of Greenwood; brothers, Ray (Roberta) Griffith of Greenfield, Bob (Hope) Griffith of Houston Texas, Steve (Iris) Griffith of Shelbyville, Tim Griffith and Dennis Griffith of Greenfield; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Theron and Dorothy Griffith; brothers, John and Theron Griffith; and sisters, Anita Copeland and Karen Sue Gibson.
Visitation will be from 4- 8 p.m., on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., on Friday, May 10, 2013, also at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, with full military honors.
