Wanda Wheeler
Wanda Wheeler, 90, New Palestine, went to be with the Lord April 27, 2013. Wanda was born in Dunbar, Ky. on Nov. 7, 1922, to Cloy Ray Appling and Osie Mary Benson Appling.
Wanda worked at several businesses in New Palestine, including the New Palestine Hardware Store, Frey Water Care, and as a receptionist at Hendryx Mortuary. She also owned a gas station with her husband, Lawrence " Bud" Wheeler. Wanda was a member of Burge Terrace Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Don (Janet) Wheeler; daughter Diane (Richard) Hunter; five grandchildren, Jeffery Byron Haste, Jeffery Allen (Nicole) Wheeler, Michele Lee, Mike (Marla) Hunter, and Doug (Amy) Hunter; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Jouett (Jo) Appling, of Ky.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Bud" Wheeler, in 1973.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Hendryx Mortuary, 19 E. Main St., New Palestine, IN. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013, with the burial immediately following in New Palestine cemetery.
