Hubert D. Miller

Hubert D. Miller, 82, Greenfield, passed away on April 28, 2013, at Golden Living Center, Brandywine. Born on Aug. 1, 1930, in Indianapolis, he was the son of George Perry Miller Sr. and Marguerite (Terrell) Miller.

  Hubert graduated from Greenfield High School in 1949. He graduated from Sheet Metal Workers Vocational School in Indianapolis in 1952. He worked for Brad Snodgrass Sheet Metal Workers, as a supervisor for over 35 years before retiring in 1993. Hubert was a 50+ year member of the Greenfield York Rite, and was also a member of Hancock Lodge #101. He was past presiding President of all three York Rite Bodies, and a long-time Prelate of Greenfield Commandery #39. Additionally, he was a former member of the Greenfield Knight Templar Drill Team,and of the Indianapolis Scottish Rite. Hubert was a member of The First Pentecostal Church in Anderson, a former 40 year member of Trinity Park United Methodist Church, and a 50 year member of Gideon’s International. He loved golfing, having been a member of Arrowhead Golf Course for over 20 years; and more recently a member of Hawk’s Tail (Greenfield Country Club), as well as traveling, and walking.

Surviving him are his wife, Helen (Wilson) Miller of Greenfield; daughter, Dana Miller of Greenfield; son, Bruce Miller of Greenfield; brothers, Larry Miller of Rushville and Harlan Miller of Ky.; sisters, Jan Nunn of Mo., Karen Rider of Columbus, and Kay Voss of Texas; grandchildren, Brandy Walls (David) MacPherson of Indianapolis, Tonya Walls of Greenfield, Brittany Hemsley of Indianapolis, and Trevor Waller of Greenfield; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife of 44 years, Marlene (Phelps) Miller; infant daughter, Tanya Ann; seven brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the mortuary, with Pastor Luke St. Clair, Bishop Danny St. Clair, and Bishop R.B. Bingham officiating. Burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
