Brenda S. Barnes, 61, of Shirley, died Sunday, April 21, 2013. She was born June 5, 1951, in New Castle, the daughter of the late Thomas Cadwallader and Evelyn (Pryor) Tappley.
She is survived by her husband, of 37 years, Ewell K. “Barney” Barnes of Shirley; two sons, Gregg (Carrie Thayer) Barnes of Shelbyville and Luke (Mel) Barnes of Ft. Benning, Ga.; three grandchildren; siblings, Harry Cadwallader of Wannamaker, Sylvia Johnson of Brown County, Gary (Wanda) Burton of Wash., Linda (Terry) Moore of New Castle, Bill (Jerri) Cadwallader of Manilla, Elizabeth Pinon of New Castle, Jackie (Dan) Schnautz of Rushville, Teresa (John) Davis of Richmond, and Laura Swejkar of Manilla; several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant grandson and a brother, Thomas Cadwallader.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel.
