Mary Lou Chapman
Mary Lou Chapman, 78, Cumberland, passed away April 8, 2013. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, she was born March 10, 1935.
Mary Lou married James W. Chapman July 30, 1955. She was the Head Cashier for Standard Grocery / Preston-Safeway for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. Mary Lou was a member and past president of Sahara Grotto Ladies Auxiliary.
Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday April 11, 2013.
Mary Lou is survived by her loving children, Pamela S. (Robert) Johnson, Jay A. (Carol) Chapman, and Kathy A. (Jesse) Reed; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, James in 2004; her mother, Kathern F. Laakmann Nauert; her stepfather, Everett Nauert; and her sister, Patricia Cunningham.
