Roger P. Spangler

Roger P. Spangler, 71, passed away at Hancock Regional Hospital, March 20, 2013. Born May 13, 1941, he was the son of Edwin and Virginia Spangler.

Roger graduated from Warren Central High School and the University of Indianapolis, formerly Indiana Central College. He retired from Arrow Electronics (formerly Graham Electronics) in 2004. Roger was employed there for over 40 years, and served as Vice President / General Manager, and loved all who worked with him. Roger was a faithful member of First Church of the Nazarene, Indianapolis. He was a member of the choir, taught Sunday school, and was a member of various boards. He loved his church and church family. Roger had an infectious smile and laugh that all loved. He was a friend to all and made everyone he knew feel special. He will be forever missed.

     Survivors include his mother, Virginia Spangler; devoted wife, Shirley (Rife) Spangler, to whom he was married over 50 years; his treasured daughters, Rachelle (Jeff) Wright of New Palestine and Jennifer (Roy) Kleeman of Fairland; precious grandchildren, Whitney Brooke and Brock Jeffrey Wright, and Mitch Roger and Lucas Alexander Kleeman; brothers, James (Carolyn), Edwin (Karen), Mark (Karen); sister, Sharon (Dan) Hayes; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his father, Edwin Spangler; and brother, Michael Spangler.

          Visitation will be 3 – 8 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Shirley Brothers, Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St., and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. at Indianapolis First Church of the Nazarene, 9401 E. 25th St., Indianapolis.
