Donald Wayne Plummer
Donald Wayne Plummer, 77, went home to the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013. Don was born on July 4, 1935, in Mt. Comfort, to Harry and Myrtle Plummer.
Don attended Mt. Comfort School and later worked at Roberts Dairy for 33 years. Don loved to travel and was proud to say had visited all 50 states. He loved antique cars, and owned a 1954 Chevy and a 1930 Ford. His main hobby was his beautiful flowers and his garden. He was a self-educated master gardener who everyone turned to for advice.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Ann, and daughters Beverly Berndt (John), Barbara Cole (Don), and Brenda Plummer. Don was especially proud of his four grandchildren, Stephanie Berndt, Chris Berndt, Justin Cole, and David Berndt.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister Viola Merchant; two brothers, Hubert and Ivan; and two children, Ronnie and Linda. All are waiting for him in heaven.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hendryx Mortuary, New Palestine. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Palestine United Church (His Place). Friends may call at the church 1 hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to New Palestine United Church (His Place).
