Vivian Bernice Jordan, 80, of Wilkinson, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013. She was born Dec. 25, 1932, in Shirley, and the daughter of Gerald and Mabel (Harris) Wright.
Vivian graduated from Wilkinson High School in 1950. That year she married the love of her life, Glen “Spider” Jordan. The couple celebrated their 62nd anniversary on Oct. 21, 2012. Vivian owned and operated Vivian’s Beauty Salon from 1965 – 1990. She was a member of the Shirley Eastern Star #492 now the New Castle Eastern Star #116 and a lifelong member of the Shirley-Wilkinson United Methodist Church. She loved making special greeting cards for her family and friends and loved to watch IU Basketball.
Surviving are her husband , of 62 years, Glen “Spider” Jordan; son, Rick Jordan; daughters, Cheryl (Ron) McIntosh, Gwen (Richard) Strough; brothers, Robert (Berniece) Wright and Byron (Marilyn) Wright; sisters, Mary Lou McDaniel, Betty Delph, Jeanne Collier, Janet (Gene) Ramsey and Beverly (Gary) Messick; grandchildren, Charity Trent, Jeremiah Gregory, Jessica Lee and Seth Jordan and nine great- grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Eugene Wright.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, in the Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with an Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at held 10 a.m.,on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, in the Shirley-Wilkinson United Methodist Church in Shirley. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
