Monte James Wilson, 72, of Greenfield, passed away Feb. 10, 2013. He was born Feb. 29, 1940, in Indianapolis, to Emile James and Sally Mae (Browning) Wilson.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 – 1967, receiving a commendation for his actions in the Cuban Crisis. He worked for International Harvester as an area manager for 15 years then CMW Inc. as a senior application engineer for 22 years, retiring in 2010. Monte helped coach his sons little league and Babe Ruth League teams.

Monte  is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Collins) Wilson; children, Michael, Andrew (Wendy), Timothy Wilson, Sheryl “Sheri” (Gary) Garner; step-children, Lonnie Hoversten, Rebecca Bolton, Justin McDaniel; sister, Deedree K. Schaedel; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Claire (Foss) Wilson.

Funeral services will be Thursday Feb. 14th at 11 a.m. at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary. Burial will be at Gravel Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13th and Thursday from 10 until service time at the mortuary.
