Joseph M. “Joe” Reigel, 76, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, Feb. 04, 2013, at his home. Joe was born April 22, 1936, in Parke County, Ind., to the late Wesley A. and Hazel L. (Bly) Reigel.
Joe served with the Marine Corp during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post #416, the Moose Lodge both in California. He was an avid golfer and former softball coach. He also sold cars on a part time basis after his retirement in 1993 from the U.S. Postal Service.
Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Joan (Cooney)Reigel of Greenfield; sons, Larry (Debra) Reigel of Calif., Daniel W. (Sue) Mize and Stephen (Margaret) Mize all of Greenfield; daughters, Norma Jean (James) Halcomb of Greenfield and Mary (Steven) Shepherd of New Palestine; 13 grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Wesley Reigel, Bob Reigel, Alan Reigel and Paul Reigel; sisters, Toni Moore, Inez Bales and Martha Reigel; and one great -grandchild, Derrick Lee Mize.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, 46140. Friends may call Thursday from 11a.m., until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery.
