Chester H. Morris, 100, of Pendleton, passed away on Jan. 22, 2013, at the Fall Creek Retirement Center Pendleton. He was born on Sept. 14, 1912, in Strawtown, Ind. and resided most of his life in Pendleton.

Chester graduated from Pendleton High School in 1930. He was a farmer and also worked for Delco Remy for 18 years. Chester was a Pioneer Hi-Bred salesman for several years, starting in the 1950's, and it has continued in the family with his son James and grandson Ryan. He was a member of Fall Creek Christian Church in Pendleton. He previously attended Mt. Gilead Church, Pendleton, and Markleville North Christian Church.  He was very active in the Indiana State Horseshoe Association and placed second in his early years. He enjoyed playing euchre with friends and family. Chester played in several Softball Leagues around Madison County. He was active in Madison County 4 H, where he enjoyed helping in every aspect of the club.  Chester was a very active in gardening and loved to share his produce with friends and family.

Chester is survived by his children, John (Janice) Morris of Pendleton,  Mary Lou Huey of Anderson, and James D. (Rebecca) Morris of Pendleton; grandchildren, Cheryl  Morris, Ryan Morris (fiance', Buffy Drinkwine), Gregory Huey, Cindy (Rudy) Lee, and great-grandchildren, Kailyn Earle, Ethan Lee, and Taryn Lee.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma (Brown) Morris; mother, Josephine (Redick) Morris; father, Straud Morris; brothers, Gilbert Morris and Marion Morris; and sister, Martha Rector.

Visitation was held from 3 – 8 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, Ind. Services was held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Jan.  26, 2013, at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Wiles officiating. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson.
