Donald E. Finney, 63, of Greenfield, passed away on Jan. 9, 2013. Born on Sept. 4, 1949, in Beech Grove, he was the son of Marvin and Phyllis (Brinegar) Finney.
Donald graduated from Greenwood High School in 1967 and married Rita Beavers on July 16, 1974, in Johnson County. He retired in 2008 as a Quality Control Engineer after 35 years at Navistar. Donald was a former treasurer of UAW Local #2274 and a former member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood. He was a loving and patient man who enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
Surviving him are his wife, Rita Finney of Greenfield; children, Cindy (Jon) Martens of Indianapolis, Joe (Jennifer) Finney of Indianapolis, and Darren (Tracy) Finney of South Bend; father, Marvin Finney; and grandchildren, Melinda, Abigail, Dakota, Jon Michael, Alexis, Cheyenne, and Caroline.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Phyllis Finney.
Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m.on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m.
