Ruth Ellen Pyle, 102, of Waveland died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Hickory Creek of Crawfordsville. She was born Jan. 8, 1910, a Judson to Albert Lee and Blanche Buckler Spencer.
She married Harold W. Pyle Dec. 26, 1935, and he died Aug. 10, 1981.
She was a member of Waveland Covenant United Methodist Church, a cook at Waveland School and a homemaker. She was a graduate of Greene Township High School in 1928, was an Honorary Member of Waveland High School Alumni.
She is survived by the son, Larry (Joyce) Pyle of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Marlene (Max) Gentry of Greenfield; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by the parents; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters; and a grandson.
Services were held Monday, Jan. 7th at 1 p.m. at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home at Waveland with Rev. Bill Pike officiating. Friends called from 11 a.m. till service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial was at Portland Mills Cemetery.
