Robert L. "Bob" Moore, 84 of Tipton died at 5:13 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at his residence. He was born April 4, 1928, in Albion, Ind., to Clarence "Ink" and Bessie (Wells) Moore.

He married Nancy Sorg on June 29, 1956, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2006.

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean War. He earned the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and received an award from the government of South Korea.

Bob is survived by two sons, Michael "Skeet" Moore of Tipton and Gayle Moore of Massachusetts; two daughters, Robin Cook, Greenfield and Wreny Howell of Anderson;  three sisters, Helen Ruth (Delbert) Hipshire of Columbia City, Judy (Harold) Sparrow of Arizona, and Joanne Davis, Ft. Wayne; one brother, Wayne (Ina) Moore of Ligonier.

He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Glenda Moore of Auburn.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Robert Fortner; one sister, Mildred Miller; and one brother, Paul Moore.

Bob's funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10th at the First Presbyterian Church in Tipton with Rev. Dr. Linda Philabaun presiding and burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and from 10 – 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
