Paul E. Maynard, Jr., 76, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Hancock Regional Hospital. Born on May 9, 1936, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Paul E. Maynard, Sr. and Rosalind (Moon) Maynard.
He graduated from Greenfield High School and was stationed in Japan with the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Carole (Hagman) Maynard on August 10, 1962, in Greenfield.
Paul worked for Eli Lilly for 35 years before retiring in the early 90’s. He was a former member of Greenfield Country Club, Elks, American Legion, and the FOP. Paul loved to play golf and fish; he also was a TV movie buff. His grandson, Matthew, was the light of his life.
Surviving him are his wife, Carole Maynard of Greenfield; son, Brian (Rhonda) Maynard of Greenfield; grandson, Matthew Paul Maynard of Greenfield; and niece, Jill (Lewis) Ebbert of Greenfield.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Paul and Rosalind Maynard.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5th, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will immediately follow. Father Bill Stumpf will be officiating.
