Elva Marie Mardis-Toon, 82, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 30, 2012. She had resided in the Masonic Home in Franklin for the last eight years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Mardis; and her second husband, Harold Toon. Her foster siblings have all already passed, Wayne Cochran, Kenneth Cochran, and Vivian Cochran.
Marie is survived by four children, Linda Mardis of Greenfield, David Mardis of Greenfield, Pam Wood of Mesa, Ariz., and Tim Mardis of Shelbyville; 3 stepchildren; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the mortuary. Marie will be buried next to her first husband, Lawrence Mardis, in New Palestine Cemetery.
