Mildred “Joan” Ream, 82, of Greenfield went to be with the Lord, Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born June 2, 1930, at Norwood, Ohio, the daughter of the late Orda Orr and Mary (Potts) Lutz.
Mildred was a member of the Shirley Christian Church, Published Poet, hostess for the James Whitcomb Riley Home, former owner of the Bittersweet Memories Antique Mall, Knightstown, Ind.
Survivors include five daughters, Shirlee (Rodney) LaHuis of Grand Rapids, Mich., Laura (Michael) Shively of Shelbyville, Deborah ( Dave) Ross of Greenfield, Sheila (Ronald)Steele of Indianapolis, Sarah (Jerry) Brain of Indianapolis; twenty four grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren due in February; one sister, Martha (Paul) Mikesell of Columbus, Ohio; several nieces; and nephews; and special friend, John Knox.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Walter Ream Sr.; sons, Walter Ream Jr., and Charles W. Ream; grandson, Chad A Lahuis; sisters, Phyllis A Barker, and Shirley Bailey; two brothers, Richard and Robert Lutz.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Gary Sickle officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012.
