Georgia P. Maxwell, 76, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Kindred Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Georgia was a lifelong Hancock County resident, born March 15, 1936, to the late Jesse and Dora (Zapf) Barnard.
She was a graduate of New Palestine High School and a devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Maxwell was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Greenfield Moose Lodge. She attended Brandywine Community Church, Greenfield and New Life Christian Fellowship. She also enjoyed the Colts and Pacers as well as Nascar. Georgia was the former owner of the Whitehouse Restaurant and worked for CVS warehouse.
Georgia is survived by son, Mark (Jenny) Maxwell of Greenfield; daughters, Candice (Michael) Sproul and Cheryl (Ronnie) Skaggs both of Greenfield; brothers, Norman Barnard of Wilkinson and Kenneth Barnard of Greenwood; sister, Ruth LaMaster of Ohio; daughter-in-law Gail Coffey of Mo., 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Richard Coffey; brothers, Ora, Edgar and Everett Barnard; sister, Maxine Downe and one grandchild.
Services for Mrs. Maxwell will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield with burial to follow at Park Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
