Donald Lee Strauser, 82, went to be with the Lord and wife, Darlene, on Dec. 5, 2012.  He was born on July 21, 1930, in Bloomfield, Ind., to Martin and Lonnie Strauser.

Donald worked for Ford Motor Company for 37 ½ years as an inspector.  He was very proud to be employed by Ford and was proud of the product that they made. He proved this by purchasing a new red truck every year.  He also enjoyed going to gospel singings and talking about the good old days.

Surviving him are his children, Sharon (Tony) Schreiber of Greenfield, Donald R. Strauser of Shelbyville, and Larry (Angel) Strauser of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Angela (Andy) Russell of Evansville, Sarah Strauser of Indianapolis, Katherine Morris of Indianapolis, Jacob Strauser of Indianapolis, and Adam Schreiber of Minneapolis, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Haylee, Jayden, and Ella; and sisters, Anna Strauser of Indianapolis and Betty Bough of Lafayette.

Preceding him in death were his brothers, Clifford “Elmo” Strauser and Ermal Strauser.

Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m.on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. Burial will take place at 11 a.m.on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012,  at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Donald’s family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff at Brandywine Nursing Home and Hancock Regional Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hancock County Meals on Wheels or to Hancock Regional Hospice.
