Mary Mabel Clay, 84, of Morristown, went to be with her husband on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Cypress Run surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 16, 1928, in Rock Creek, W. Va., to Dewey and Gracie P. (Miller) Cantley. She married Woodrow S. Clay on Oct. 7, 1945, and he preceded her in death on May 12, 1992.

Mrs. Clay was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Morristown United Methodist Church for over 50 years and Morristown American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Clay enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing.

Survivors include her daughter, Rosanne Clay (Robert) Hines of Plainfield; sons, Tim (Freda) Clay of Indianapolis, Sheldon (Lucy) Clay of Greenfield and David (Cindy) Clay of New Palestine; sisters, Icie Erwin of Carmel and Ethel (Dempsey) McKnight of Rock Creek; 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at Noon on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery.
