Robert "Bob" Jean Carlton, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Dec. 3, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and retired from GM as a skilled tradesman. He served as President of Wilkinson Town Board for many years, was a member of Markleville F & AM Lodge 629 and a Past Master of Shirley F & AM Lodge 531. After retirement he sold insurance, worked as an auctioneer and owned CC's Pizza. Bob loved to play golf, go mushroom hunting and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bob is survived by son, James (Jennifer) Carlton; daughter, Sherry Rigney; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Beverly (Winn) Carlton, of 65 years; parents, Elbert and Edna (Milner) Carlton; and son-in-law, Roger Rigney.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements handled by Liming Family Funeral Home in Shirley.
