Leonard "Mike" O'Bryan of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012.

Mike was a rough and tumble throwback to the good old days. He was born in 1947 and raised in Poseyville and Evansville Ind. He grew up in the 50's loving Corvettes, fishing, go-carts, and the Cisco Kid. But most of all, he loved his family. He graduated from Rex Mundi High School in 1965 and enlisted in the Navy. A proud Vietnam vet, his service of four years was a meaningful accomplishment for him, even though he remained quiet about it. He enjoyed simple things: crappie fishing with his dad or drag racing at Chandler with his brother meant more than deep sea fishing or the Indy 500.

He retired from Kocolene where he held many job titles, working most recently as manager of Sunoco Fast Max near I-70 where he ran a tight ship. He was a "family guy" whose daughter, Shae Kokomoor (David) and his granddaughter, Kyleigh Estes were his constant source of strength and love.

His mother, Bertha (Erbacher) O'Bryan (deceased 1995); dad, Leonard O'Bryan (deceased 1991); and sisters, Mary Lynn Adams (Leroy, deceased) and Rebecca Nellis (John) were loving touchstones throughout his life. To his only and dearly beloved brother, Pat D. O'Bryan (Kim), he was mentor and best friend. In short, he was a loyal friend and a Royal Flush of a man who will be sorely missed.

Mike is survived by several cousins; two nieces; and one nephew.

A celebration of his life will be held from 11 to 2 p.m. at his home, 1315 Bittersweet Drive, Greenfield, IN. on Sunday, Oct. 21.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Disabled American Veterans or Humane Society of your choice.
