Dulcie Jean Benson, 85, of Greenfield, passed away Oct. 8, 2012. She was born June 19, 1927 in Madison, Ind., to the late Charles and Arebell Jenkins Pender.

  Dulcie was a faithful member of Franklin Road Baptist Church and she was a member of the Red Hat Society. Dulcie enjoyed singing, going to social gatherings, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Harry C. III (Cheryl) Dexter Mich., Robert A. Jr, and Norman “Benny” Benson (Melody); daughters, P. Dianne Smith (Jeff) Tuscon Ariz. and Alice F. Benson; mother-in-law, Margaret L. Benson; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great- great- grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bud” Benson, Sr; son, Murray M. Benson; daughter, Sueann Buchanan; brothers, Robert and Earl Pender; sisters, Juliana McMasters, Margie Wright, Grace Snell, and Myrta Aldridge; grandchildren, Blair Benson and Bill Kelley; great -great- grandchild, Brooklyn Minier.

Friends may call Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. in Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East 10722 East Washington Street. Funeral service will be Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the funeral center.  Burial will be in Norristown Cemetery in Shelbyville.
