Barnetta Irrgang, 97, of Fortville, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 3, 2012.  She was born on Oct. 26, 1914, in Ireland, Ind., she was the daughter of Barney and Naomi Alice (Morgan) Armstrong.

Barnetta graduated from French Lick High School in 1932, and attended Indiana Business College. She married Paul M. Springer on May 29, 1933, and he preceded her in death. She later married Robert L. Irrgang on Sept. 1, 1959, and he also preceded her in death. Barnetta was a member of Northview Christian Life Church. She loved crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She also loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Surviving her are her children, Julia Ann (James) Dunkman of Wanamaker, Jo Marilyn Marendt of Fortville, and Douglas W. (Sherry) Springer of Greenwood; sister, Hilda L. Cook of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her daughter, Jeanette Shepherd; parents; both husbands; and granddaughter, Deborah Dunkman.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, from 2 until 6 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Fortville. Funeral services will take place on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at 11a.m. at the mortuary. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
