Raymond E. Blakely, 69, of Greenfield passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Hancock Regional Hospital. Raymond was born Dec. 13, 1942, in Tompkinsville, Ky. to the late Sol and Nora (Spear) Blakley.
They moved to the Indianapolis area in the early 1950’s. Raymond retired in 1997 from International Harvester, Local 98 after 30 years. After retirement, he enjoyed tinkering in his garage especially on old lawn mowers.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Pamela (Hornsby-Dowden) Blakely; son, Tony Blakely of Greenfield; stepsons, Chip (Sara) Dowden and Brian (Gina) Dowden all of McCordsville; daughter, Cathy Blakely; grandchildren, Ethan Blakely, Joshua Dowden, Jackson Dowden and Zachary Dowden; sister, Betty Emery; brothers, Carlos Blakley and Donnie Blakley.
He was preceded in death by son, Adam Blakely; brothers, Sherman, Danny and Charles Blakley; and sisters, Glenda and Maddy Blakley.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN. 46140.
