Shirley D. Rice, 75, of Greenfield, went to be with the Lord on Sunday Sept. 16, 2012, at her home. She was born on May 25, 1937, in Robbins, Tenn., the daughter of the late Theodore and Mabel (Hall) Barnette.
Shirley was a graduate of Arsenal Tech. High School in Indianapolis. She was a waitress most of her life and loved to gamble.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Thomas) Edwards of Greenfield; grandchildren, Bailey, Andy, Darrin and Jeff; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Dennis; brother, David (Janet) Barnette of Nashville; sister, Mary Ann Zike.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Wilda June Perkinson.
Private Services were held by her family and a gathering of family and friends will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at her home.
