Juanita Slaughter, 76, of Wilkinson, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at Country Home Health Care in Charlottesville. She was born Jan. 26, 1936, in Bartholomew County, to the late Charles and Wilma (Hendershot) Dobbs.

Juanita had been a registered nurse at Hancock Memorial Hospital.  She was a graduate of Hope High School and St. Mary’s of the Woods Nursing School. She was a  member of Christ Fellowship Church in Shirley.

Juanita is survived by sons, Ted E. (Jean) Slaughter of Wilkinson, Tod O. (Laura) Slaughter of Lexington, Ky., and Tim D. (Nancy) Slaughter of Harrodsburg, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis E. “Frank” Slaughter; and brother, Jackie Dobbs.

  Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A celebration of Juanita’s life will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at the funeral home, with Pastor David Goff officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
