Donald David “DIZ” Dismore, 64 of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, Sept.11, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Sept. 21,1947, to the late David Austin and Helen (Andrew) Dismore.

He grew up in Greenfield, attended Greenfield High School and attended Purdue University on a full football scholarship in 1965. He was named the Parade All American Football Player his junior and senior year. He was the only player to receive this honor from Greenfield High School and was an all-conference high school football player for four years and all-state football player for two years. He competed in the state wrestling in 1965 and he was inducted into the Greenfield Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame in Feb. of 2005.

He retired from the Iron Workers Local # 22 in 1987. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Shelbyville. The most important things in Donald’s life were loving his family, friends and having fun.

Survivors include his loving children, Kimberly Wilkins of Fountaintown, and Alisha Dismore of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Tim Dismore, Keri Batten, Matthew Yocum, Hannah Jane Wilkins, Nathan Shelton, and Devin Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Kaylan, Carleigh Dismore and David Alomar; sisters, Sharon Lively of Kokomo, Linda Gressette of Indianapolis and Meridth (Larry) Brokering  of Shelbyville; several beloved nieces and nephews; along with great-nieces and nephews.

Donald had many loyal friends that were good to him though the years and he cherished them all.
