Shelba “Jean” (Carroll) Carwein, 75, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Morristown Manor in Morristown. Born April 10, 1937, in Arkansas, she was the daughter of Swiss Carroll and Hazel (Copeland) Inmon.

Jean graduated from Greenfield High School in 1955. She was a real estate agent in Greenfield for 15 years and retired as a bookkeeper for Professional Appraisal Company in 1989. She was a member of Brandywine Community Church in Greenfield and the American Business Women’s Association. Jean volunteered for Riley Festival for 12 years and enjoyed doing taxes as a volunteer in the TCE program at the Senior Center for 24 years.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronald Carwein of Greenfield; sons, Gregory Carwein of Greenfield and Jeffrey Carwein of  Valdosta, Ga.; sister, Annette Jolly of Valdosta; brothers, Jerry (Laura) Inmon of Valdosta and William E. (Glenda) Inmon of Valdosta; and special sister, Betty Sue (Don) Edwards of Greenfield; grandsons, Jeremey (Tara) Reeves of Greenfield, Ron Carwein of Valdosta, and Chad Carwein of Greenfield; and great-grandchildren, Kylie Carwein of Valdosta, and Steele and Delaney Reeves of Greenfield.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James “Shorty” Inmon.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
