Marion Sumner Wells, 85, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday Sept. 4, 2012, at Golden Living Center – Brandywine. He was born on March 14, 1927, in Benton County, Ind. He was the son of the late Charles Oscar and Mabel Violet (Bruce) Wells.

He was a retired elementary school teacher for the Greenfield Central School Corporation for 34 years at Weston and Riley schools. A 57 year member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Greenfield; where he was a song leader and lay member to the annual conference. He was a member of the Hancock Lodge #101 F & AM of Greenfield. Marion served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise (Kraus) Wells of Greenfield; sons, Randall (Rita) Wells of Greenfield, Kenneth (Dee) Wells of Washington, Ind., and James Wells of New Albany; daughters, Anita (Alden) Taylor of Indianapolis and Karen (Jeffrey) Kaster of Westford, Mass.; stepdaughter, Judith (Larry) Turner of Greenfield; 10 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 8 great- stepgrandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy May (Strickler) Wells; five siblings; and stepdaughter, Suzanne Johnson

Visitation will be from 10 to 2p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Park Cemetery with full military honors. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 8, 2012, at the Stillinger Family Funeral Home Pasco Chapel, with Masonic Services.
