Ivan J. Coil, 86, a resident of Maxwell passed away Friday Aug. 31, 2012, at his residence. He was born March 19, 1926, in Russell, Ark. to the late Worthy A. and Bessie (Long) Coil.

Ivan was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, owned and operated Coil’s Barber Shop, Maxwell for 42 years, was a 24 year school bus driver for Greenfield Central Schools and raised cattle.  He was a member of the N.R.A., Angus Association and the Indiana Cheviot Sheep Association.  He loved bird hunting and collecting old cars.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Colline (McDonald) Coil of Maxwell, son, Ted (Charlotte) Coil of Fortville, grandson, Ty (Justina) Coil of Fortville, great-grandson, Cash Allen Coil, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ova, Garland; and a sister, Gertrude Daniels.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield.  Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield, Ind.
