Barbara Ann Burns Barnett, 82, of Greenfield, passed away on Aug. 22, 2012. She was born on Nov. 3, 1929, in Bluffton, Ind. to Patrick G. and Clara B. Burns. She attended Chester Center High School in Blackford County and earned her Pharmacy degree from Butler University in 1952.

Barb worked for more than 50 years as a Manager/Pharmacist for Hook’s Drug Store and other pharmacies and served as a mentor for pharmacy students for both Butler and Purdue Universities. She was a long-time member of the Dental Wives Bowling League in Indianapolis and after her retirement, worked for the State House phone bank. She was a member of the Copeland Farms Homeowners Association Board and of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Indianapolis.

 She is survived by her husband, Donald B Meyers of Greenfield; daughters, Sherry Galloway of Effingham, S.C., Stacy Barnett Bucherl of Indianapolis, Robin Kark of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Donlyn Meyers of Liberty Center, OH, Ellyn Meyers of Brooklyn MI, Diana Beth Beal of Lake City, Minn., and Darcy Meyers of Chagrin Falls, OH; sister, Sally Kay of Melbourne, Fla.; and 17 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Erin Murphy; son, Brett Barnett; and 11 brothers and sisters.

 A Funeral Mass will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Indianapolis. There will be a reception immediately following the Mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church. A private burial will take place at a later date at St. John’s Cemetery in Montpelier, Ind.
