Glenn C. “Doc” Barrett, 77, a Greenfield resident passed away on Saturday Aug. 18, 2012, at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis. He was born on Aug. 18, 1935, in Indianapolis, to Glenn Curtiss Barrett, Sr. and Frances Lucille (Scott) Barrett.

He graduated from Butler University and received his Master’s Degree from Ball State University and was a retired GCHS English, Speech, and Drama teacher with a career spanning 38 years. He was an U.S. Army veteran and also served as Pastor of The First Christian Church in Eaton, Ind.

Glenn was a member of the Hancock Masonic Lodge 101 F&AM, Indiana Regional Board of Disciples of Christ, Indiana State Teacher’s Association, Indiana Retired Teachers Association, Indiana Federation of Churches, White River Valley Minister Association, Greenfield Christian Church and former member of the Greenfield Library Board.

He is survived by his son Blaine (Kelly) Barrett of Greenfield; three grandchildren Ashley Barrett, Dustin Barrett of Indianapolis and Madison Barrett of Greenfield; sister, Judy Lee (Tom) Lahey of Indianapolis; and brother, Phillip Barrett of Indianapolis

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Charlotte Ruth Barrett.

Visitation will be from Noon until the time of service. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield.
