Kevin B. Daugherty, 51, of Greenfield, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 20, 2012. He was the youngest child of Barbara and the late Vaughn Daugherty. He was born on March 22, 1961, in Anderson.
He spent the first few years of his young life in Pendleton. The family later moved to Anderson, where he graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1979. Kevin pursued a career in the automotive industry and worked at several General Motors locations in Indiana, Texas, and Oklahoma. Most recently, he was employed at GM’s Marion Metal Center, Marion, and was a member of Local 977, UAW.
Kevin will be forever remembered for his wonderful personality, his delightful sense of humor and the way he generously shared his time and knowledge with those around him.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Daugherty of Anderson; brother, Vaughn (Julia) Daugherty of Saline, Mich.; niece, Jillian (Joshua) Short of Muncie; aunts and uncles, Chris and Howard Logan of Pendleton, Jim and Barbara Dunn of Clinton, William and Becky Daugherty of Anderson, Lucille Turner of Terre Haute, Dorothy Daugherty Lovell of Ormond Beach, Fla., Dr. Forrest and Marsha Daugherty of Columbus, Nelda Nelson of Carmel and Carol Daugherty of Terre Haute; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vaughn Daugherty; and his sister, Loretta Lynn Daugherty-Armstrong.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home. A grave side service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20th, at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, with Rev. Bernard Jackson officiating.
