Mrs. Martha Harrison, 88, of Franklin passed away on Aug. 4, 2012, at the Franklin United Methodist Community. She was born on June 2, 1924, a daughter of Marion & Alpha Pearson.
Martha was a member of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority. She emceed the Franklin Holiday Parade for many years, as well as various style shows including at the Greenwood Park Mall. She catered for numerous weddings as well as other functions. Martha was the chairperson of the Franklin Community High School Post Prom at the Franklin Skate Club for many years. She donated her time and energy making sure fireman & police officers had coffee and food. Martha was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklin, where she and Gerald were married in 1955.
Survivors include children; Michael (Mary Anne) Harrison, Susan (Barry) Lutzke, Jon (Ellen Causey) Harrison, Julie (Joe) Bailey; grandchildren, Melissa (Trenton) McArtor, Benjamin Harrison, Andrew, Alex & Amy Bailey, Zack & Gracie Bradley, Eric & Michael Lutzke, and Jason Harrison; great-granddaughters, Kaelan & Kyndall McArtor, and her sister-in-law Willetta Harrison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Harrison; and one brother.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m on Tuesday, Aug., 2012, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Vandivier-Tudor Chapel, 951 North Main Street. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. The Reverend Cleon Wright will officiate.
