Harold “Bud” Ooley, 73, of New Palestine, was called home to his Heavenly Father on July 14, 2012. He was born July 25, 1938, in Indianapolis, to Glenn and Ula (West) Ooley.
Harold was a devoted and loving husband, father, beloved brother and dedicated grandfather. He and Marilyn just celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary on July 6, 2012. Harold graduated from Howe High School in 1956, and attended Indiana University. He was very civic minded, a member of the Republican Party, and an Inspector at the polls. Harold was an avid reader who loved history and reading about cars and airplanes daily. He also enjoyed basketball and spending time with family and friends. You could often find him at ball games where he spent countless hours supporting his grandchildren. He and Marilyn were always on the go and particularly enjoyed traveling both locally and internationally.
He spent his career in the energy industry, working at Indiana Gas, Roper, and Capitol Consolidated. Harold retired from Proliance Energy in 2003.
Harold is survived by wife, Marilyn; daughters, Kristie (Mike) Whisler, Stacey Brown and Shannon (Dale) Snodgrass; sister, Jane Cary; grandchildren, Wes (Kara) Whisler , Brittney Brown, Jessica (Nick) Borgelt , Karly Snodgrass, Taylor Brown and Cameron Snodgrass.
