Jerrell Lavelle Ferguson, 85, of McCordsville, passed away on June 27, 2012. He was born on September 14, 1926, in Fair Oaks, Ark. He was the son of Grady Roy and Arabelle (Beggs) Ferguson.

Jerrell married Vera Jean Cook on June 1, 1950, in Greenfield. He worked at E.R.I. as a machinist in Indianapolis for 20 years before retiring in 1992. Jerrell was a veteran of the Army, who served during WWII. Additionally, he was a former member of the VFW and American Legion in Fortville.

 Surviving him are his children, Betty Jo Ferguson of Noblesville, Billie Jean (Wilby) Dotson of McCordsville, and Brenda Joyce Valentine of McCordsville; siblings, Dorothy (Fred Johnson) Forth and Jerry (Janet) Ferguson, both of Greenfield; grandchildren, Michael (Tatya) Dotson of Avon and Lisa (Joe) Gause of Markleville; and great-granddaughter, Joely Gause.

Preceding him in death were his wife; parents; son, Randy Lee Ferguson; and brother, James D. Ferguson.

 Visitation will be on Friday, June 29, 2012, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Fortville. Graveside services will follow at approximately 11 a.m. at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
