Harold Toombs, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully after a short illness while visiting family in Dallas, on June 14, 2012. He was born in Indianapolis, June 3, 1921. Harold was the son of Bert and Edith Toombs and resided in Indianapolis his entire life.
Harold is a graduate of Warren Central HS and Lane Business College. He proudly served his country in the Navy. Harold was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Cumberland. Harold spent most of his career as an accountant working for several companies over his career including Capitol City Fence, Dealers Indianapolis Auto Auction, and Auto Dealers Exchange.
Harold is survived by his son, Greg (Kris); and by his grandchildren, Gabi, Alexandra, and Adam.
He is preceded in death by his wife, of 52 years, Dorothy (Schwier) Toombs.
Visitation will be from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Tuesday June 19, 2012, at Hendryx Mortuaries in Cumberland, Ind. followed by the Masonic Ritual. The funeral be at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday June 20, 2012, following the service there will be graveside interment.
