Dean S. Hunt, 69, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday night June 16, 2012, at Community Hospital East, Indianapolis following a long battle with Leukemia.He was born February 10, 1943, in Greenfield, Ind. to the late Robert L. and Mildred (Crossley) Hunt.

Dean retired from Allison’s Transmissions, Speedway, on February 1, 2006, after over 35 years of employment. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War Era. He attended the Chicago Institute of Art and was an artist that showed his work at Crazy Lake Art House and recently the Greenfield Banking Company. He enjoyed horseback riding with his horse “John”, enjoyed making pottery and writing poetry. He will be missed by his many high school and community friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Richardson) Hunt of Greenfield; daughter, Jessica Hunt of Yorktown; son, Justin (Jacque) Hunt of Brunswick, Ohio; step-daughters, Elissa Cronk, Julie Hamm both of Greenfield; brothers, Gary (Marcia) Hunt of Charlottesville, Alan (Carol) Hunt of Richmond, Ky.; 3 grandchildren, Dakota, Alexis, Avery; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call Thursday, June 21, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield with military rites provided by the Greenfield Veteran Honor Guard.
